My name is Lindsay.  I’m a gardener.  I started my Horticultural Technician apprenticeship in 2012 and worked in-field until the birth of my daughter in 2015.  Although extension of my training was in ornamental gardens and landscape construction, I maintained my passion in urban agriculture.  I love food; I love growing it, eating, and preserving it – homesteading.

Being in the city is limiting. However, with some imagination and flexibility, a modest yet fruitful lifestyle can be carved out.  It’s not really homesteading, but it’s close enough for me.  For a lot of us, the excitement is all too easily brought to an abrupt end when the results of our first attempts are nothing close to what we imagined starting out.

This blog combines the best of my kitchen and garden exploits as I rejoice and commiserate with the highs and lows of urban vegetable gardening and urban foraging.

I hope you enjoy my blog, and I hope this site can offer you something to relate to.  A garden is not always about utility, but rather growth, love, endurance, and a sacred place for the self.

P.S.  I make errors of all kinds.  Oh well.
